Your emergency appointment lasts about 30 to 45 minutes. We start with digital X rays to diagnose the issue. Then the dentist explains the findings and your immediate treatment options. We also give aftercare instructions and arrange follow up if needed.

After an extraction you should avoid hot foods and drinks for 24 hours, follow a soft diet for a few days, and avoid smoking and strenuous exercise. If your dental emergency happens outside our opening hours, your main options are NHS 111 or a local pharmacy. NHS 111 can offer advice and may direct you to an out of hours urgent dental centre, though availability can be limited. A pharmacist can offer advice on pain relief and temporary filling kits for minor issues. While these can help manage symptoms temporarily, they are not a substitute for professional diagnosis and treatment, which you should seek as soon as our practice reopens.
